1978Zanfretta UFO incidentThe record supports a narrower event than the famous story. During a night patrol near Marzano, Zanfretta radioed his employer, lost contact and was later found distressed by colleagues. The owner of the Val Bisagno security firm reported the episode to the Carabinieri on 7 December; a later information report was sent to the Genoa court system and eventually closed because no criminal offence was identified. Those administrative acts document a reported incident, not a non-human visitor. The detailed spacecraft, medical-examination and ‘Dargos’ narrative developed in hypnosis sessions organized after journalists and UFO investigators had entered the case. Later encounters, an alleged hidden sphere and broad witness totals remain claims without publicly authenticated originals or independent custody. Contemporary and later Italian media—including La Stampa, local television, Portobello and a 1984 RAI production—made the story culturally durable.
