Israel's military said on October 13 that an unidentified object which triggered sirens near the Lebanese border was probably a balloon or another hot-air-floating device, according to reporting by Emanuel Fabian in The Times of Israel. The military ruled out a drone or UAV but said it could not establish the object's origin or purpose with certainty.

The alert sounded at 19:57 on October 10 in Arab al-Aramshe, a Western Galilee village near Lebanon. Surveillance and detection systems tracked the object and guided ground forces, the military said. Security was reinforced in nearby communities while checks were carried out. The subsequent assessment suggested a harmless object may have drifted into Israeli territory.

The object had not been recovered, and civilian guidance from the Home Front Command remained unchanged. The military said searches and reviews of its detection systems were continuing. Its balloon assessment is therefore a provisional explanation, not an identification based on a recovered object; the published account leaves the object's dimensions and ownership unresolved.
