What the video shows
The video appears to show a single intense light source near the horizon that resolves into several luminous points. The lights move relative to one another with an erratic rotational pattern while the group slowly shifts laterally from left to right.
Witness description
According to the release text, the eyewitness observed the light at about 0500 local time from a sparsely populated area known to them and estimated the distance at roughly 2,000 feet. The recording was made on a hand-held iPhone 12 Pro, which explains some camera movement.
Source and provenance
The source is identified as FBI-UAP-PR001 and was published by DVIDS as part of the PURSUE public release. The description says the witness statement was provided to the Federal Bureau of Investigation and that the FBI assessed the reporter as highly credible.
Evidence notes
