Hellertown light video: submitter accepts aircraft and lens-flare explanation
An October 8 Pennsylvania recording initially described as erratic disks was reassessed by its submitter after readers pointed out aircraft lights and camera artifacts.

What the video shows
The 182.7-second submitted montage includes a brief dark-sky recording near a tree line, forward and reversed playback, slowed repeats, enlarged frames and the submitter's annotations. Bright points and camera movement are visible, but most frames are dark. It is not 182 seconds of continuous unexplained flight.
Witness description
The submitter reported filming near Hellertown at 01:53 EDT on October 8 with an iPhone 17 Pro. After initially describing fast-moving lights, the same account thanked commenters and accepted an airplane and lens-flare/artifact explanation. The claimed flight identification was not independently checked here.
Source and provenance
Reddit post 1x18zzs was published October 9 through ufosightingsbot for u/That_Profile_2496, linked to ufosighting.report archive 13102. The full Reddit-encoded montage, video ID 35eisk4zkcuh1, is stored locally with audio. The archive's file timestamp is October 8 at 21:01:14Z, later than the stated observation and consistent with an exported montage, not camera-original metadata.
Evidence notes
Slowed and reversed repeats are not independent observations. Tiny light shapes cannot establish disks, extraordinary acceleration or a physical triangle. The submitter's later correction is important evidence about the report's interpretation, although it is not an official investigation.
Possible explanations
Aircraft lights combined with internal lens reflections and image stabilization provide the explanation accepted by the submitter. Reflections can appear to move opposite a bright source as the camera changes aim. This record preserves a reassessed sighting, not an unresolved extraordinary claim.
Verification notes
Complete submitted montage checked. Credibility C for the initial anomalous claim; submitter subsequently accepted a conventional explanation. This is not an official case resolution or evidence of non-human technology.
