Bright moving light filmed for two minutes over Hillsboro, Oregon
A night walker recorded a bright point moving across the sky above Hillsboro before the image enlarged and faded near the end.
What the video shows
The complete 136-second portrait video shows one bright point above trees in a cloudy or hazy night sky. The camera pans and changes zoom while the point moves gradually across the frame. Near the end, the light becomes a larger soft disc and is lost as the camera reframes; no solid outline, surface detail or sudden high-speed departure is resolved.
Witness description
The poster said the video was recorded on an iPhone 16 during a late-night walk in Hillsboro at 9:56 p.m. on July 20. They described an unusual path and said the object appeared to flare into a sphere before disappearing. No second witness, compass direction, original camera file or independent recording was provided.
Source and provenance
The first-person r/UFOs post 1v4xe0r identifies u/Perfect_Database6343, Hillsboro, the stated date and time, the phone model and Reddit media ID jmfstgfc03fh1. The complete 720-by-1280 H.264 video and AAC track were downloaded from Reddit and merged without trimming into a local MP4; the thumbnail is the source poster frame.
Evidence notes
The precise claimed time and place, named account and complete video support basic provenance. Missing direction, camera metadata, star references, flight-track comparison and a second recording prevent reliable range, speed or trajectory estimates. Apparent size and brightness change while focus, exposure and zoom are also changing.
Possible explanations
A distant aircraft viewed near the line of sight is a leading explanation, especially if its landing lights brightened as its aspect changed. A drone or bright planet affected by camera movement is also possible. The final soft disc is consistent with digital zoom, autofocus loss or exposure bloom and is not evidence that the physical object expanded.
