Distant object filmed near Mount Rainier
A 2-minute-21-second daytime video shows a small dark target near the Mount Rainier skyline; distance, scale and the exact camera location are not available.
What the video shows
The complete 141-second recording frames Mount Rainier from a distant residential viewpoint. A small dark target appears near the ridge, and another tiny point is visible higher in the frame at moments. The camera zooms and reframes repeatedly; no resolved surface, abrupt acceleration or sharp turn can be measured.
Witness description
The poster said the object was first noticed on the left side of the mountain at 8:01 p.m. on July 19, then lost from view and seen again on the right while drifting downward. They estimated living about 90 miles away, said the camera faced south-southeast and used an iPhone 14 Pro. The exact town was not disclosed.
Source and provenance
The original r/UFOs post 1v1xo81 identifies u/Prantheman and Reddit video ID 7onwyxje6geh1. A complete 480-by-640 H.264 rendition lasting 141 seconds was localized without trimming; the thumbnail is a frame from that file.
Evidence notes
The post supplies a date, stated time, viewing direction, camera model and first-person narrative, while the mountain offers a fixed visual reference. The clip lacks exact coordinates, original device metadata, range, scale and independent corroboration. Zoom and atmospheric distance prevent reliable motion measurement.
Possible explanations
A hot-air balloon, helicopter, drone, bird, paraglider or distant aircraft could produce a small drifting silhouette at this resolution. The witness also raised balloon, helicopter and drone possibilities. Nothing in the video demonstrates performance beyond those conventional classes.
Verification notes
The source post, account, media ID and complete playable local video are documented. The object is visible in the source file, but its identity, distance and path cannot be established; credibility is rated C for direct provenance with limited visual information.
