Multiple light groups filmed over Mission Bay from San Diego
A nearly two-minute telephoto video shows separate clusters of small lights near the SeaWorld observation tower reference; aircraft, drones, flares or lanterns remain possible.
What the video shows
The complete 1-minute-56-second landscape video shows several small light groups against a dark sky. Two or three lights appear close together in places, while smaller points seem to descend or cross near brighter ones. The illuminated SeaWorld observation tower provides a fixed foreground reference, but heavy zoom and camera shake turn points into short streaks.
Witness description
The poster said the video was recorded at 9:30 p.m. on July 17 with a Sony WX500 at full zoom from a hillside backyard between Bay Park and Morena. They placed the lights in the direction of Mission Bay and the North Pacific and said multiple clusters were visible, some with three lights and some single.
Source and provenance
The original r/UFOs post 1v0hj4o identifies u/DelToroAngel as the uploader and Reddit media ID 95fioscid4eh1 as the source video. The complete 1920-by-1080 H.264 stream with AAC audio was localized without trimming.
Evidence notes
The recording includes a recognizable skyline reference, a stated camera model, time and neighborhood, and more than one minute of continuous footage. It lacks original EXIF, compass bearing, independent witnesses and synchronized flight data. At maximum zoom, focus and hand movement make relative motion and apparent satellites around brighter lights difficult to measure.
Possible explanations
Distant aircraft approaching or turning over coastal airspace, drones, illumination flares and sky lanterns are all viable. The grouped and descending appearance could involve more than one ordinary source plus camera motion. The clip does not resolve bodies or demonstrate speed, acceleration or turns beyond conventional possibilities.
Verification notes
The public post, claimed time and viewpoint, author, camera description, media ID and complete local video are documented. The lights are present in the source file, but their distance and nature cannot be established from this single telephoto view; credibility is rated C.
