Dark object remains visible over Sottomarina in two daylight clips
A two-minute compilation published August 28 preserves two recordings attributed to July 22 over Sottomarina, Italy; the target remains distinct from a bird and a contrailing aircraft, but the clips lack a fixed horizon for measuring its reported movement.

What the video shows
Against a clear blue sky, a small dark target persists through zoom and exposure changes. Its blurred outline sometimes appears oblong or notched. A bird crosses one segment and a conventional aircraft with a contrail appears in another while the principal target remains elsewhere in frame.
Witness description
The post attributes both recordings to Fabio Lecchi, who reportedly observed the object from about 8 p.m. until after 9 p.m. on July 22 and described back-and-forth movement and changes of direction. Those motion claims cannot be independently measured from the moving, tightly zoomed camera view.
Source and provenance
The local H.264/AAC file is the complete 125-second Reddit compilation, media ID bjbf6gem72mh1. The post says it joins two Facebook recordings in chronological order. The compilation watermark and re-encoding mean it is not untouched camera-original media, although the source name, location and claimed observation window are disclosed.
Evidence notes
The simultaneous bird and aircraft are useful controls: they show the principal target is not either of those visible objects and that it is external to the sensor. They do not establish distance, size or unusual performance. No stable horizon, raw files, second viewpoint or calibrated angular measurements are available.
Possible explanations
A balloon, distant drone, bird viewed at an unfavorable angle or another ordinary airborne object remains plausible. Atmospheric blur and aggressive digital zoom can remove identifying detail and make small orientation changes look like shape changes. The footage cannot distinguish these possibilities.
