What happened: The witness, identified in the report as Henri, described an oval object about 1.5 metres long and 0.8 metres high hovering silently in daylight. He attempted to photograph it, but his camera was already known to malfunction, so no event image was produced.

Witness accounts and timeline: Henri contacted the gendarmerie the same day. GEPAN was notified on 23 October and conducted site work on 27 and 29 October. The short interval between report and investigation is a strength, although the event itself had only one direct witness.

Evidence analysis: Investigators collected wilted amaranth samples and compared plant chemistry and physiology. The report discusses differences among samples but also identifies confounding factors such as plant maturity, nitrogen variation and preservation. There was no clear soil compression, scorching or diagnostic residue.
