2020Mage UFO reportsIn May 2020, videos and crash claims attributed to Magé, Brazil, spread online. Contemporary UOL and CNN Brasil reporting recorded official responses that did not confirm a crash, together with cautious comments from researcher Marco Antonio Petit. Later reporting discussed the IMBEL factory and local checks, but no authenticated common event, recoverable object or complete original-video chain was established. This dossier separates publication dates, recording locations, official responses and interpretation; a widely repeated crash story is not itself physical evidence.BrazilGrade C / DISPUTED 19961996 Varginha UFO IncidentOn 20 January 1996, Liliane Fátima Silva, Valquíria Silva and Kátia Andrade Xavier said they encountered a small, brown, red-eyed figure crouched beside a wall in Jardim Andere, Varginha. Their account was reported within days. Claims that firefighters captured creatures, soldiers moved bodies through hospitals and an extraterrestrial craft had crashed developed through ufologists, anonymous testimony and later media. Brazil's Army investigated allegations published in a 1996 book and rejected military participation, proposing that the women probably misidentified a local man known as Mudinho during a storm. Individual records do not describe one uniform encounter: some pilots saw lights, some obtained radar contact, and others saw nothing despite ground vectors. These records establish a real aviation report, not the identity or performance of an extraordinary craft. Privately preserved police and forensic copies now allow examination of the recorded scene, autopsies, bottle testing, exhumation and later hair analysis. The note suggests preparation for an experiment without proving what was swallowed or why the masks were used. Contemporary luminous-object testimony and later UFO interpretations must be separated from the documented deaths: neither the surviving tests nor the associated reporting verifies an anomalous craft or extraterrestrial cause.BrazilGrade C / UNRESOLVED 19581958 Trindade Island UFO PhotographsOn 16 January 1958, civilian photographer Almiro Baraúna said he exposed six Rolleiflex frames from the Brazilian Navy survey ship NE Almirante Saldanha while an object passed near Trindade Island; four developed images were said to contain it. The photographs and the expedition setting are part of the public record, but the evidentiary chain is incomplete. Brazil's Navy archive catalogs the expedition's end-of-commission report and possible UFO reports, while noting that the report currently lacks the cited Annex E photographs. A March 1958 U.S. Naval Attaché report recorded that Brazilian naval authorities considered the images insufficient proof and that the ship's commanding officers did not see the object; its preparer judged a hoax or publicity stunt most likely. Later analyses have argued both for and against manipulation, and a relative's 2011 account alleged Baraúna privately described a laboratory montage. Later magnesium-isotope results were compatible with terrestrial material, while recent trace-element tests were inconclusive. Olavo T. Fontes first published the detailed story in the September 1959 APRO Bulletin, attributing it to unnamed officers and claiming two unnamed sentries suffered burns during a close approach by an orange disc, while electrical systems failed and secrecy followed. No witness statement, medical record, power log, incident report, photograph or physical object supporting those details is publicly available. A Brazilian National Archives file, BR DFANBSB ARX.0.0.167, contains two 1976 letters from researcher Robert Todd repeating the allegations and a Brazilian air attaché's forwarding note; it does not contain a 1957 report, investigative findings or even a reply. Edison Boaventura Jr.'s later inquiry found early 1958 magazine notices and recollections compatible with a light seen near the fort, but his archival checks and interviews did not corroborate burns, a blackout or a bent rifle.
